Spanish-style architecture has long been a feature of many homes in the Beverly Hills real estate market. The name Lawry’s immediately brings to mind the familiar shaker of seasoning salt for many people, but the birthplace of this ubiquitous spice is a classic Beverly Hills establishment still in operation today. Lawry’s The Prime Rib on La Cienega Boulevard has been churning out classic all-American fare since 1938, serving countless high profile guests, including long-time regulars Frank Sinatra and Mohammed Ali.

The Greystone Mansion boasts a list of film credits few actors can claim. This 46,000-square-foot Tudor-style estate-turned-city-park was built in 1928. It has been featured in dozens of films and television productions, with its descending staircase often taking top billing.
Originally, the photogenic one-time residence was built as a gift for the son of oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny, for his son “Ned” Doheny, Jr. The younger Doheny died at Greystone only a few months after the home building was completed, and his widow sold the estate to Chicago industrialist Henry Crown, who rented it out to movie studios.

The work of Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the most prolific and highly regarded architects in American history, is mostly centered in the Midwest. But his signature architectural style can be found in Los Angeles. The Anderton Court Shops on Rodeo Drive are one particularly iconic locale within the city limits of Beverly Hills.
Anderton Court Shops was the last structure Wright designed in the Los Angeles area. Structurally, it stands out from nearby buildings with a “V” shaped front elevation. Originally designed to hold three storefronts, today this 3-story building features six shops. The white building with black accents was initially painted a buff color with copper-colored accents. In the 1890s, Ohio-transplant Henry Gaylord Wilshire cleared out the path in his field that would later grow to become one of the most famous stretches of roadway in America. The Gaylord, a historic apartment building bearing his middle name, sits directly across from the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire.
